  1. Susan says:

“rocks a sweet pair of boots.”

I feel I’ve met her right here before. Rocking rhythm. Nice boots.

  2. And I imagine that

    she

    real cool.

    she

    stayed in school.

    she

    lurks late.

    she

    isn’t straight.

Wonderful poem, CB. The rhythm, and the pieces of the person you included resonated with me. (But then, I swear like a sailor, only listen to great music (at least it’s quality in my mind), and I dream of wearing a kickin’ pair of boots.

  3. Mama Zen says:

A girl has got to have some boots!

  4. hedgewitch says:

At the risk of introducing some shit music, this made me think of a song lyric which I will change arbitrarily to fit the poem, because I can: “Fill my eyes/with that single vision,” coal.

  5. Oh, I love this one! She sounds like a heck of a gal!

  6. I love the poem! So intense yet gentle…
Thank you for your words in my blog they made my day…

  7. lolamouse says:

    She
    sounds like a rockin’ chick!

  8. dani says:

    LOVE THIS!

    she
    one lucky girl!

  9. I hate dogs, but for some reason I love this line: “got a wild-ass dog that sleeps with her” … I guess because it’s wild. The word “wild” makes everything sound more interesting.
