when i dream, i dream with music.
sometimes i wake up, mornings,
with it ringing in my ears,
like i just walked off stage.
It always amazes me how dreams are so much better, and so much worse, than the lives we live outside them, yet seem completely real, more real if anything, while we’re in them. Only fitting that coal is dreaming in music…perfect title.
Had a nap this afternoon and dreamed a white cat with the upper body markings of a leopard jumped on my bed. I don’t own a cat. Any ideas?
Wow, your dreams, besides being totally more creative and out-of-the-ballpark than mine, also come with a sound track. I am being ripped off. Hee hee.
Joyce wrote Finnegan’s Wake from a dreamland that was aural — he called it “Eirish” — interesting medium, seeing with the ear, waking with the selkie singing a last few notes before diving beneath the dark wave. A miner for soul coal, the music must be diviner down there. – Brendan
how cool! wish i could dream with music!
