white western boots

on your polished gold wood floor

and the quilt on your four poster is

and blue.

  1. All American style, nice.

  2. hedgewitch says:

Some slick barrel racing–and nothing better than white boots by the bed, if they belong to the right person. I was mentally unprepared for that song not to be “He’s a Rebel.” though. Slightly different tune.

  3. Laurie Kolp says:

Brief, yet leaves a vivid image… rich colors, fun times.

  4. Mama Zen says:

That tells you everything you need to know!

  5. brian says:

ha. you must have been to my home town…smiles.

  6. zongrik says:

    i know someone like this!

  7. suggestive and sensual without being grimy

  8. the word bar says:

This describes my Alabama cousins.. nicely done!!

  9. David King says:

Something about this. It’s more than it seems.

  10. Heaven says:

that rodeo riding was sure wild ~

  11. Hooray!!
This shows a great eye for peripheral detail.

  12. Marion says:

My little redneck niece barrel races. It’s pure poetry in motion the way she handles that horse. xo

  13. I’m the odd person out here. I think the rodeo will be fair when they truss the cowboys up with leather straps against their balls just like the horses and bulls!! But I did like the poem, the eventual “resting place.” A nice slice of the States. Amy

  14. horses, white boots, red, white and blue…gotta love it!

  15. Victoria says:

Very fun. I live in the world of cowboys in Reno…and I can totally visualize this! Fun response to the color prompt.

  16. dani says:

i haven’t been to a rodeo since a barrel racer punched his horse in the mouth after losin’ ~ true story.

    LOVE your poem! ♥
