glad

dint hafta

steal that guy’s last french fry,

but i did.

dint hafta

stay out all night til the sun got high,

but i did.

look at you,

all smooth and easy brown like a river bank

so cool and deep like where the willows weep…

dint hafta

tuck my hair behind my ear and

lay my tongue right here,

but i did,

and i’m glad.

Whoa. Crispy hot. Coal turns up the heat on this one. And the middle lines with their savor of a slow-moving, fertile river are moody and perfect.

  2. Love the middle bit ~ ‘look at you,

all smooth and easy brown like a river bank

so cool and deep like where the willows weep…

    Hot indeed! Fabulous…

Yeah, this is an earwig – all Mississippi delta – singin’ to me like Delta Dawn, what’s that flower you have on – now get that outta yo ear, Miss. Really sultry, sexy, and jazz hot. I’m doin’ blues next week. Don’t expend all your passion just yet.
