bird

Posted: 05/10/2011 in house of love, house of music, house of women

got a sweet green bird

like a wish with wings…

sittin on a swing,

my sweet green bird.

bird got a bell

when she wants, she rings…

and if she get loose,

she fly like hell.

got a green eyed love

with a smile that sings…

got it bad, i think

for my green eyed love.

fly past the pond

and the parson’s church…

my brass bed rail

makes a pretty perch.

got a sweet green bird

like a wish with wings…

wish i tied her to a string,

my sweet green bird.

hope she dont fly to fast
    for you to catch
    that green eyed bird of
    which you sing…

You need to get Mz Black’s git-tar out the pawnshop. Then she can sit on the front porch swing and rock and sing, and that bird can help with the harmonies.

This is the blues as bad as anyone has had it, and expressed as fine as anyone else has said it.

wow this is a cool poem…so vibrant and imaginative i want to fly around with that green bird…i like the sensuality as well, ummm a lot of sensuality, quite a bit actually…tie her to a string and she can fly you anywhere…stimulating writing and then some…!!!

“A wish with wings” is such a cool phrase!

    A bird on a string
Ain’t as great as you think
    It’ll poop on your head
    Make your hair really stink!

  10. gospelwriter says:

Oh yeah, I’m singin’ the blues right on with you – very lyrical, lovely… there’s nothing like the blues.
